Freedom to Speak Up Guardian (FTSU)

The Service

Howbeck Healthcare specialise in services to support Primary Care organisations.  Our experience and position, embedded in Primary Care, enables us to provide a Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardian service that is specifically tailored to the needs and working processes of General Practice and Primary Care in the UK.

We have extensive experience and understanding of the unique nature of General Practice and Primary Care, and in particular the challenges of providing an independent, impartial and confidential service in small, independent organisations like General Practices.

Delivered by a dedicated Primary Care FTSU Guardian; publicised and promoted visibly within your organisation, and available every day, the Howbeck FTSU Guardian service is tailored specifically for the requirements of Primary Care. We will support you in ensuring that you have the appropriate policies and processes in place to ensure that you are compliant with the NHS England and CQC requirements for Freedom to Speak Up.

Our service will support you to demonstrate that:

  • There is a clear positive procedure in place
  • There is support and advice which can be easily accessed to help staff
  • Concerns are taken seriously, and clear records are kept
  • Staff are aware of what will happen having raised a concern and will be kept informed

Our Current Clients

Howbeck Healthcare already provide our Primary Care FTSU Guardian service to over 120 clients which include, General Practices, Walk-In Centres, Enhanced Access Hubs, PCNs and Federations.
