Overcoming the challenges of AVT adoption in General Practice – we have the solution!

Our NHS leaders are very good at providing General Practice with challenges to overcome – one of the latest conundrums to solve is the introduction of Ambient Voice Technology (AVT) into everyday practice use.

What we know is that:

  • AVT systems can be really helpful in increasing efficiency and productivity, and we believe in improving the quality of consultations.
  • NHS England are pushing practices to use AVT – see the reference in the NHS Plan.
  • The CQC are requiring evidence of CSO assessments to support AVT introduction.
  • Currently external (and internal) provision of CSO assessments is too costly for practices to absorb – and there is no evidence that any ICB funding is available to practices.

So, what we know is that we have a valuable solution that practices are willing to fund and NHS England want practices to adopt, but that the clinical safety requirements prevent adoption.

We have a solution that may crack the conundrum – A bespoke General Practice ‘at scale’ CSO service designed specifically around the adoption of AVT systems, at an affordable price.

Howbeck Healthcare are a specialist Primary Care company run by GPs for GPs, and we specialise in ‘at scale’ support to practices, PCNs and Federations – we currently supply services to over 200 practices either directly or through PCNs and Federations.

Our CSO model has been developed with the practices, PCNs and Federations we work with – our initial ‘offer’ is based on the adoption of one or more of the 5 leading AVT systems across a PCN or grouping of practices.
